Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

BROOKLYN WE GO HARD

BROOKLYN WE GO HARD

When I was a teenager I loved discovering beautiful garnments . Next to being a normal school kid, I became a dance teacher at a fairly young age (15) and what little time I had left between going to regular and dance classes, preparing dope choreographies, teaching my students and hanging out with my friends, was spent looking at clothes. And since I spent so much time surrounded by other people, I mostly shopped alone...

I still fiend for those ultimate shopping moments. It only happens a couple of times a year though. That moment when you gravitate towards an item you like. You study it carefully. Then (and only then) you check the brand. You get excited...

If I had never heard of the brand or designer, I immediately checked the store for other items. If I liked those too and the price tag of that first item wasn't too ridiculous (teaching dance classes was a good gig for a youngin), I got it.

I still shop like that.

Well, most of the time I do.

Twice a year I am dumb enough to ignore my gut feeling when I am 100% sure that what I am looking at is a classic in the making that will be sold out soon everywhere.

Last time the aforementioned stupidity occured was previous Christmas at Colette when I saw this "Brooklyn Parle Français" sweater by BWGH.

It's kind of a random statement, but it immediately made me laugh. That's right, just looking at it made me happy and I still didn't buy it. What's that all about #kanyeHUUUUH?

A couple of weeks later LGF and I were at VIER in Antwerp and I picked out this shirt with pearled detailing for him, but he just bought his fourth shirt in two months so he politely declined and when I checked the brand, guess what the tag said?

I reluctantly put it back and proceeded to the lower floor where the "Brooklyn Parle Français" sweater -of course- was gawking at me. I didn't say anything, didn't even touch it. But I guess LGF knows me too well because he went : "You want that sweater don't you. Babe, please get it." Again I said no.

And now I FEEL SAD CUZ IT'S SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE!

Anyway, the past couple of months, I started to get to know Bob -owner of and very talented buyer at VIER- and he assured me that he's ordered a lot of A/W product which will be in store  this August/September. I'll keep you posted here or here.

I can see a lot of my friends being handsome in this gear.

For now, I am very glad to hear that David Obadia and Nelson Hassan have collaborated with Colette on a sweater which you can get here (if you're real quick).

In Belgium BWGH is available at VIER and Hunting And Collecting.

For worldwide stockists go here.

I wanted to post a picture of Kid Cudi in BWGH but since the styling went awry with those chains and glasses, Imma just drop "M.E.R.C.Y." because I'll never get tired of seeing Young Rager dance.

Back in the day me and my crew would've definitly paid hommage to his 2min51- 2min56 moves. Strong finish 'n' all.
