Diana Gordon - Becoming

Diana Gordon is here to stunt on us, with the marquee credentials to back it up. The Grammy-nominated recording artist, producer and songwriter credited on Beyoncé’s seminal ‘Lemonade’ album (‘Sorry’, ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’, ‘Daddy Lessons’) has just released new lead single ‘Becoming’, affirming her own path in life with a beautiful, rich-in-melanin video shot by Maxime Quoilin (Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Tom Ford). ‘Becoming’ is self-described as a track that “celebrates (Diana) becoming the person she has always wanted to be; working hard, (being) in control of her life and bringing her family with her.” It’s also a bop, seemingly custom-made for getting ready to go out with your main girls.

‘Becoming’ is the first single since Diana Gordon’s 2018 EP ‘Pure’ and is meant to be the tone-setting preview of her upcoming 2020 album - which we’re eager to tune into. Inspired by hardship, complicated family relationships and a search for inner peace, the new album has its eye fixed on the future. Best get out Ms. Gordon’s way now.

Released via Facet Records. Directed by Maxime Quoilin.
