‘Moonlight’ Snatches Gold and Wigs in Calvin Klein (All the Looks)

Whew, they really tried it out here at the Oscars this year but we’re going to #GaryfromChicago it out (OFFICIAL 2K17 MOOD) and ignore all of that mess. Justice prevailed, and even though awards are not all that important, the story Best Picture winner ‘Moonlight’ tells is exactly that. We can only hope the success of this unique film leads to more opportunities for those who are dedicated to write, portray and produce art that reflects the underrepresented and the marginalised.

Not only was Oscar history made (Mahershala!), an assembled cast also never looked this damn good. Team Calvin Klein made the sage decision to dress ‘Moonlight’ lead actors Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders (who is killing it out here, racking up Dazed covers and Teen Vogue editorials) and Alex Hibbert in expertly tailored black wool tuxes. The group pics of those three are honestly too much and give me major future wedding photo booth inspo.

The breath-snatching Naomie Harris was also dressed by the brand in custom white sequin Calvin Klein By Appointment.

It was another happening week for Calvin Klein, the brand also announced Luella Bartley as Head of Global Design for Calvin Klein Jeans this weekend. The lauded London designer made waves with her namesake label Luella until it shuttered in 2009 due to the effects of the global recession. She returned to the industry in a big way by teaming up with Katie Hillier and launching Hillier Bartley in 2015. Calvin Klein also dropped a collection video last week, directed by Willy Vanderperre, offering a closer look at the first AW17 collection designed by Raf Simons and Pieter Mulier against the #wallgoals Sterling Ruby backdrop.

Plus only just now the new Calvin Klein Underwear campaign for SS17, also shot by Vanderperre, was released. It features Ashton Sanders sprawled on a sofa, Trevante Rhodes lounging in briefs and Best Actor winner Mahershala Ali disrobing and I need a minute. What a blessed Monday it has turned out to be.

So grab your purple phone from the purse dangling from the crook of your arm and get to screenshotting all of this fire for your 2017 stunt look moodboard.
