Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Lots of skin, girls smoking like a choo choo train, a singer-songwriter living like a French maid, a saxophone and rock school for smarmy Indie types. (And more.)

Daniel Avery: All I Need on Nowness.com

Daniel Avery has been taking over my headphones recently. More about him in my next post. For now, here's the damn sexy video for "All I Need".

Hanging out with Gaspar Noé (Enter the Void, Irreversible) and Harmony Korine (Gummo, Spring Breakers) rooting through trash, shooting guns, talking to hellfire preachers, watching a songwriter 'who lives like a French maid'... The conversation includes phrases like: "So I went to the strip club and there was my guidance counselor. He was with the woman with the elongated tailbone." Weirdly mesmerizing.

Savages - Marshal Dear - It's very Chris Isaac, this one. In a good way.

The Residents 'Theory of Obscurity' documentary: coming soon. To celebrate their 40th aniversary, The Residents are shipping a limited edition freezer (yes, freezer) filled with their complete catalogue, an eyeball and a hat. Cost: 100.000 dollars.

Major Lazer - Jet Blue - Hot girls smokin' like a choo choo train. (NSFW)

Two funny ones to end:

Sarah 313 is a pilot Sarah Silverman made for NBC. It didn't get picked up. It's worth a watch, though. Fun fact: in this episode, Sarah strips down and throws her clothes from a balcony, together with a friend. They ride the elevator down naked and then pick up their clothes to get dressed again before anyone in the building notices. This story actually happened and Sarah Silverman's friend who stripped down naked next to her was... Louis CK. I wonder if the boob grab was also actually Louis' move. Sounds plausible.

This is an oldie from Yo La Tengo with guest appearances from David Cross and Bob Odenkirk. I totally get how some people brush off Yo la Tengo as indie posers (there's a great story in Henry Rollins' book 'get in the van' how he got into fight with them backstage at a festival. I recommend you hunt that one down.) but this video shows they have a sense of humour about it. Also: I've seen them live twice and they killed it both times. (Fun fact n° 2: the second gig I saw them at was in New York and they were announced by Heath Ledger, days before his death).
