Yaeji and director Andrew Thomas Huang answer the age-old existential question: “Would you still love me if I was a worm?” The song ‘Pondeggi’ itself is “an itty bitty rhyme in times that are violent” and the caterpillar trope also opens up existential lyrical wormholes like “wiggling, lost my dreams along the way”, while Uhm Jung-hwa (‘the Korean Madonna’) flutters about as 'Cyberwitch and Moth Princess’. Together, they meet an ancient wizard in the woods, who shows them the dangers of getting tangled up in sticky content, as the world goes up in flames and we’re hypnotised by the flickering spectacle of it all across our screens, patiently cocooning in our bedrooms.
