‘Mork n Mindy’ is an appetising nibble from the new ‘Spare Ribs’, slated for 2021. It’s everything you hope to get from Sleaford Mods: cheeky bleakness, strappy beats/ beeps and a matter-of-fact-kind-of-angry delivery of lyrics (including our new favourite word to pronounce in an East Midlands twang and with a scowl on your face: it’s ‘bum-ble-bees’).
Also: props to Billy Nomates, who made her debut on Invada Records earlier this year, for nailing the chorus.
Quote:
“Mork n Mindy is the sound of the central heating and the dying smells of Sunday dinner in a house on an estate in 1982. Concrete, dinted garages, nicotine. Where beauty mainly exists in small cracks on the shell of your imagination.”
