Dreamville has had a stellar year with the release of J.I.D.’s ‘Dicaprio2’, Ari’s “Shea Butter Baby”, the collective “Revenge of the Dreamers 3” and Earthgang’s promising debut “Mirrorland”. All of them sitting pretty on most ‘Best of 2019’ lists. On “Under the Sun”, DaBaby joins to shine and J. Cole drops one of the creepiest verses of the year: “I got her suckin' her thumb, that's my lil' baby / She call me daddy like grandmama baby”. I can almost hear the therapist leaning closer on that one. Also, the chorus is by Kendrick Lamar, who remains uncredited and invisible, like a very bankable ghost.
