It’s not really a video, it’s Visual Poetry. All-round Brussels-based talent, Martha Da’ro, has just dropped ‘Sugarman’ and it’s a thrilling ride from zero to three fourty-two. Bumbling around the city and below, Da’ro blends striking choreography (that final shot, though) with an unnerving track about lost youth. Directing the show is trusted collaborator Yaqine Hamzaoui, the gifted eye behind most of Miss Angel’s visuals (don’t miss our recent interview for more on her future plans with Martha). Finally, cinematographer Heleen Declercq infuses a destabilized, creeping look to the sum of all parts. Clearly Martha Da’ro is primed for takeover, don’t look away.
