SHOWstudio Wants To Know What 'Queer' Means To You

As part of their larger 2018 QUEER project, Nick Knight's storied SHOWstudio seeks to explore the depth, definition and importance of the term queerness. There's an open call out right now for anyone who wants to share their art, words, talent or existence to get into the meaning of 'queer'. Send in your proposal to receive an invite to SHOWstudio London to briefly speak, draw, paint, create, sing, dress, just be, whatever you feel like expressing on the topic. You'll be allotted a space and fifteen minutes to get ready, then do fifteen minutes of filming live on camera. Taping will take place on Saturday July 14 and your performance will feature as part of this overarching project, which started in May.

If your spirit is calling you to send something in, you could become part of a mix that includes SHOWstudio 2018 queer features like the upcoming conversation on queerness between Beth Ditto and Dilara Findikoglu, a fashion film with Jazzelle Zanaughtti aka @uglyworldwide, a two-day live-stream with non-binary London design collective ART SCHOOL and an ongoing series of interviews and essays on queer fashion.

To get invited in, send an e-mail to queering@showstudio.com including your name, location and concept. Be sure to enter before the end of Thursday July 12 to have your submission considered.
